~2006 in Review~

Can it really be?  2006 has already come and gone.

We have been working on the completion of forty three new sites and they should be open very soon.  We are only waiting on the county to give the OK.  All year our guests have watched the progress and consistently asked, “Will the new sites be as big and nice as the old sites?”.  YES they will.  The overall plan and layout is the same.

Things in the tech department have changed as well.  We now have someone here on staff that designs and maintains our web site.  Many of you know that we just launched a brand new web site this fall.  Looks great doesn’t it?  Also new in the tech area, all guests now have free WI-FI.  In early December after many months of research and planning the new system became operational.

The activities and events continue to grow as well.  This year we have added a craft program for the snowbirds that spend much of the winter with us.  They have made fall centerpiece boxes with pine cones, winter scenes with miniature bird houses and kissing balls for Christmas to name just a few.  Some of the projects have been so popular the guests have asked for them to be repeated.  We anticipate more growth and guest involvement with theme or event weekends and of course we will continue the favored holiday traditions.  In April we are planning a springsation.  There will be dirt cups, bug sandwiches, flower pots and much, much more.  Make your plans to be here.

This year has brought a lot of changes to me personally as well.  In February my father passed from this life into the next.  I miss him and his encouragement so very much, but I know he is in a far better place and one day I will see him again.   Until then, my family continues to grow and with my seventh grandchild, another little boy, I am truly enjoying one of God’s greatest gifts; grandchildren.

Jack and I have moved out of our beloved motor home that we called home for more than seven years.  We now live in a more stationary home, the adjustment took a little time but it is very nice to spread out a bit which we all know is not really possible in an RV.  The best thing is having that second bathroom, ladies ya’ll know what I am talking about!
